NGO PHOTOGRAPHY

I specialise in humanitarian photography worldwide for local and international NGOs.

I have photographed and filmed practically all kinds of projects for the most important humanitarian organizations in the world, including Greenpeace, UNICEF, ActionAid, International Medical Corps, The International Committee of the Red Cross and the International Labour Organization among many others.

My photographic style but mostly my passion for the work of organizations towards people helps my clients to share their messages and stories through all different channels, including their websites, social media, press releases or any other internal use the client may require, helping to create the necessary impact for their projects and fundraising campaigns.

Here you can find the best of my humanitarian photography in the different portfolios below, I hope you like what you see.

FAQ

NGO Photography

Do you have special rates for NGOs?

In fact yes, while my work is usually invoiced on an hourly basis, for humanitarian organizations my work is priced per day of assignment, which leads to a substantial reduction in my rates.

The final daily rates are adapted taking into account factors such as the length of the assignment, the type of project to be covered, and the country where the assignment takes place, among other factors.

In all cases, food, travel and accommodation expenses will always be paid by the organization.

Do you provide video?

Normally I only do still photography, doing both at the same time almost always compromises the end result, but sometimes I do video interviews and video stills and I also have the privilege of knowing a large number of amazing videographers that I work with that I would be happy to add to the project if required.

Is it possible to buy some of your photographs to represent one of our reports?

Yes, of course.

I have over 1 million stock photos related to humanitarian themes taken in different parts of the world that I’m sure could fit perfectly in your reports.

I just need you to tell me the type of photography you are looking for and I will be happy to present you with a selection of my best photos from which you can choose the one that best suits your needs.

Do you conduct photography workshops for NGOs?

YES.

I have given workshops for international organizations in basic photography concepts for their employees, for corporate clients to improve the image of the company, at international photography festivals, marketing and photography classes, but above all and something I love to do is to give courses to children, something I have done many times and which always gives me the best of rewards.

Can you donate your photos and time in exchange for photo credits and social media exposure?

I find it hard to say no because this work really matters to me… but the reality is that I don’t do it.

Projects are budgeted based on cost plus a (very) small creative fee. It’s the best I can do to make it as affordable as possible.

If you are a small local NGO then we can discuss ways to collaborate, I have worked on many occasions helping to raise awareness of the projects of small local organizations in Asia. If this is the case please email me and I will be happy to talk to you.

How soon can you be available for an international assignment?

As soon as everything is booked to travel to that country.

My cameras and suitcase are always ready by my front door to leave for work at any time, and I am fortunate to have three of the most important airports in Europe only two hours away from my home.

I just need you to tell me the country and flight departure time and I’ll be there.

Can you work alone on the assignment or do you need someone from the NGO team accompanying you?

Ideally, it is always advisable for the NGO to have someone from the communications department accompanying the photographer or someone from a local NGO they work with, this makes it much easier to understand the project being photographed.

However, I fully understand that in many cases this is not possible, for example in natural disasters like the one that happened in Nepal in 2015 where I worked alone for days working on my own gathering stories and images for different organisations.

In this case, it is essential to have a good conversation on the phone with the person in charge of the project and to always have the possibility to contact the NGO for any problems that may arise during the assignment.

For availability, quotes and bookings, please contact me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. For more general questions check my FAQ page as I may be covered there, but if not, feel free to email or call me at +32470191222.

Please note that I do not provide quotes over the phone, so if you would like to check availability and get a quote please email me with full details first – thanks!
