On September 26th I had the opportunity for the second time to be the photographer chosen by European Digital Rights (EDRI) in Brussels to cover one of their interesting events.

At the Townhall Europe EDRI organised the conferenceEncryption in the age of surveillance” with the participation of Dunja Mijatovic, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Meredith Whittaker, President of the Signal Foundation and Carmela Troncoso, Assistant Professor at EPFL.

The event began with welcoming remarks by EDRI Executive Director Claire Fernandez and was moderated by Iverna McGowan, Director of the European office of the Center for Democracy and Technology.

It concluded with a very interesting “fishbowl debate” where Noemie Levain, Beatriz Ramalho Da Silva and Bart Staszewski presented the cases where they are working and were joined by some of the attendees with questions and cases.

Once again I feel blessed to be able to work for an organisation like EDRI making my job incredibly easy and interesting with perfect lighting sets and venues where a photographer can move around without any problems to find those angles that make event and conference photography so different and interesting.

Thank you EDRI and see you next time, it is always an honour to work with you.

This event was echoed by some Spanish media such as El Diario.es and El Confidencial, who used my photographs to illustrate their articles.
